I’m not quite sure it gets more fun than this, especially if you are a Phillies fan (like moi – I grew up with the Phillies practically in my back yard). When Sara and Ralph suggested doing their engagement session at Citizens Bank Park, I was ALL OVER IT.  Did you know that if you ask really nicely, the fine folks at CBP will let you have free reign of the park for an entire hour?? Ok, maybe not free reign, we were escorted around by a very nice staff person with gave us all sorts of tidbits about the park. The only thing we couldn’t do was step on the turf…OMG it looked so tempting to just jump in and make a big old grass snow angel. I tried to just dip a toe in it when no one was looking, just to be rebellious. But I am a rule-follower (so boring). After the ballpark, we went across the street to FDR Park for a few more photos.

Enjoy the photos and if you’d like to see more, check out the slideshow!

Last night I watched the season finale of Glee (which, by the way, was filled with so much cheese that I just might be lactose intolerant). Anyway, in the episode, the Glee kids go to New York City for a national competition, and it got me thinking about the big apple and how it’s portrayed in movies and TV shows. New York can be romantic (think When Harry Met Sally), action-packed (Spiderman), funny (The Muppets Take Manhattan- ha!), gritty (Taxi Driver), bittersweet (the final scene of The Way We Were), sexy (Sex and the City), enchanting (ummm…Enchanted). I probably wrote down a dozen more adjectives while watching Glee, partially because the episode didn’t really hold my attention (except for the Wicked duet!) and I knew I needed to write a blog post.

When I was photographing Christina and Anthony’s engagement session I was trying to capture the romantic New York. I hope I succeeded. :)

We spent a couple of hours roaming around Central Park and I saw parts of the park that I never knew existed. Did you know there is a castle in Central Park?? Well, there is. Believe it or not, Central Park was not the highlight of our session, we were lucky to have access to 620 Loft & Garden, which overlooks 5th Ave and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Aside from the people in the office buildings across the street, when do you have the chance to be eye level with that beautiful building!? This is a pretty exclusive space, so I can guarantee you Christina & Anthony are among the special few to have engagement photos taken there! Enjoy the photos below, for more, check out the slideshow!

When most people think of Orlando, they think of theme parks, tourists, t-shirt shops, and let’s not forget the lovely scorching heat and humidity…but there is a hidden Orlando, free of all that (you can only escape the extreme heat in January though!). And while I love The Mouse, it’s always nice to see the other side of Orlando that’s a little artsy-fartsy, non-touristy, and almost California-like in its architecture and ambiance.

I met up with Natalie & Steve in Winter Park, FL for their engagement session last weekend. I totally loved this area! Great little restaurants and shops – and the folks at The Wine Room were kind enough to let us do part of our photo session in there (even in the very exclusive “rare room” which housed bottles of wine priced in the thousands…I was afraid to fire my flash for fear of a fine wine avalanche!).

Speaking of flash, my favorite assistant (dad) was with me and so that made it easy to incorporate some off-camera lighting into the session. Now you all know my love-hate relationship with artificial light, but I am slowly moving over to the dark side (or is it the light side?). I kinda like having control instead of letting my surroundings control how and where I shoot!

In an effort to be paparazzi-free for their nuptials, Natalie & Steve will be tying the knot on April 30th in Costa Rica – the day after the Royal Wedding! Enjoy the photos, and check out the video for more!

Once upon a time (about 12 years ago) in a land far, far away (Orlando), there was a boy named Mike. Mike worked in a magical place full of pirates and princesses, dwarfs and evil witches, chipmunks and lovable mice.  In order to keep working at this magical place, he would need to survive an entire summer with 5 crazy roommates.

I was one of those roommates.

That summer started with Mike being escorted to our apartment by a groundskeeper on a scooter…and hilarity ensued. Mike and I have been friends now for over a decade, and I couldn’t be happier that he found Rick.  I clicked with Rick the first time I met him, and knew immediately that he was a great match for Mike.  Also, he tolerates my chanting of “Rick Rick Rick” like Amy Poehler’s character on SNL every time I see him. Needless to say, I was THRILLED to get the call a few months ago telling me that they got engaged. Their wedding is going to be next year in New Orleans, and I will NOT be shooting it because I plan on having a hurricane in one hand and a po’ boy in the other.

In the meantime though, they needed engagement photos!  They live in Florida, but we thought it would be easier to meet up in Europe. :)  More on the trip across the pond in another post, but these photos were taken in Munich, Salzburg, and throughout the Bavarian Alps.  I think my intro above was inspired by the fairy tale surroundings!

As those little rugrats* in Walt Disney World always say, “it’s a small, small world.” When Jennifer first contacted me a few months ago to inquire about shooting her wedding, I had assumed she found me through mutual friends. After all, we went to the same high school, our dads grew up in the same neighborhood in South Philly, and she used to play with my brother when they were kids!  But alas, it was thanks to the good old internet that we were brought together (it didn’t hurt that she recognized some of the people in the photos on my web site!).

I am SO excited about Jen and Justin’s wedding next year. They are such a fun, silly couple and we had a really great time getting to all know each other at their engagement shoot in Society Hill. For more photos, check out the video!

*I’m allowed to call them rugrats because I worked there…and hate to break it to you but they are not real.

I’ve had friends get married on 5-5-05 and 7-8-09…and this year I am shooting a wedding on 10-10-10! Not only are they cool dates, but now you husbands have no excuse for forgetting your anniversary!

KC and Donnie are my 10-10-10 couple. They both live in Northeastern PA so their engagement session this past weekend was actually the first time we met!  It was SO nice to finally meet these two after months of communicating over email and Facebook. They are super silly and it’s obvious they have tons of fun together and make each other laugh. I even had to include one of Donnie’s funny faces in this post because it’s just so them.

We went to Bushkill Falls for our shoot…I had no idea this sort of thing existed in Pennsylvania (need to get myself out of the city more).

To see more photos, check out the video here. Looking forward to the wedding in October in NEPA!

I love it when I am “gifted” to someone. You may remember Donna from her maternity session a few months ago, well her sister-in-law Dina recently got engaged and this engagement session was a gift to her and her fiance Mike! They are getting married in May in Colorado…and if I didn’t already have a wedding booked that day I’d stow away in their luggage. You know how much I love Colorado!

We met up in Medford Lakes this past weekend for their shoot. I immediately connected with these two – they are super sweet, crazy in love, and just really fun to be around. Mike’s daughter Meredith came along too, the three of them together might have been almost too much for my camera to handle…oh the beauty! I think Meredith needs to get to a modeling agency asap, how gorgeous is she? And she is only 12! Got me thinking back to when I was twelve…with my two-toned hair from too much Sun-In, clear plastic rimmed glasses, and stirrup pants…boy, was I a vision.

Here are some photos for you to enjoy, I included a few more than usual but I just had a really hard time picking my favorites!

I blame my lapse in blogging on the Olympics! I am hooked. This happens every Olympic year – 2 full weeks of late nights, but I love it! Go USA!

I did take a break from the Olympics this weekend for Rachel and Michael’s engagement shoot. I was SO excited when Michael suggested that we do the shoot at Villanova University (he’s an alum). Can I tell you how much I love college campuses? The buildings just have so much character, and there are just so many indoor and outdoor options for shooting, especially when you are with someone who knows the campus!  You should have seen my eyes light up when we walked into the gym…my creative juices were flowing so fast I couldn’t keep up, I just love the way these pictures turned out!

We had so much fun on our shoot. I just think these 2 are great and I can’t wait for the wedding in May!

Make sure you check out the video! I tried a little something different this time and would love to know what you all think – leave comments below!

I finally had the chance to meet up with my engagement contest winners this weekend for their photo session! We had to reschedule from a couple of weeks ago because of some uncooperative weather and ended up with a nice, crisp fall day. Dana and I actually went to the same high school so it was great to see her after so many years, and to get to know her and Anthony a little better!

I forgot to give them their Nicholas gift card when we met up…perhaps because subconsciously I want to use it for myself…but by admitting it to the world wide web I guess I have to give it to them.

You already know this couple’s super cute story so on to the pictures!! Seriously, how adorable are these two??

P.S. I didn’t want to outshine Dana’s gorgeous engagement ring (note to my future husband if you are reading this: a round diamond with little diamonds on the band that have some kind of gemological technical name that I don’t know, yeah that’s the kind of ring I would love for myself thankyouverymuch!), but YES that is a WORLD SERIES ring on Anthony’s hand!!

I spent some time last weekend with Jessica & Adam in Society Hill to do some engagement photos. The weather was rainy but that didn’t stop us!  Since everything was still a little wet, it just made those fall colors POP! And to think we almost canceled because of the rain – the horror!  We even enlisted the help of a guy blowing leaves to blow some on Jess & Adam…felt like I was in the movie biz directing special effects, it was so cool!

I just realized how many exclamation marks I used in the above paragraph, can you tell I am excited about these photos?!?!?!?!

Jess & Adam – I had so much fun with you guys, can’t wait for the wedding in June!
