Before you ask, yes I am aware that these are beach photos and it is December. I am fully conscious of how much of a tease this is for most of you (including me) considering that so far this December has felt more like February.  But I swear to you, these photos were from just a few weeks ago!

Raegan & Cliff tied the knot in Treasure Island, FL on Nov 13th. Beach weddings are so much fun because there is a relaxing mood just built right in, and in many cases (like this one) everyone is on vacation. It didn’t hurt that we had sunny skies and 70-something degree temperatures!

What made this wedding extra special was that my dad was my 2nd shooter!  I get the photography genes from him, and he got to see me in action, so that was it super fun!

Yikes – nearly a month since my last blog post!  It’s been a busy fall, SO MUCH to share. For now though, Angela and Rob’s beautiful wedding at the Merion Cricket Club!

Angela and Rob live in Maryland so we didn’t get a chance to meet until the day of the wedding, but I knew from our phone conversations that she was going to be my kind of bride – cool, calm, and collected. She didn’t disappoint. I guess the pressure and stress of your wedding day is small potatoes when you are a neonatologist. :)  It was an absolute pleasure to watch Angela and Rob throughout the day…they have a totally grown-up love and mutual respect for one another, it was a beautiful thing to witness.
The reception was held at the posh Merion Cricket Club. It was my first time shooting there and I am hoping for more opportunities – that place is gorgeous! They just renovated the ballroom and this was one of the first events to take place there. And there was a cricket match going on during the cocktail hour – how cool is that??
Enjoy the photos! To see more, check out the slideshow here.  Happy Turkey Day!

It’s pretty safe to say that 2 Sundays ago, almost every wedding photographer was booked. The date was 10-10-10 and it was the most popular wedding date of the year. It’s also one way to ensure that your hubby never forgets your wedding anniversary!

I headed up to Northeastern PA for KC & Donnie’s triple 10 wedding. Fall is hands-down my favorite season, and I don’t think they could have had a more perfect day! Up in the mountains the leaves were at their peak, and from far away looked like the shag carpet I had in my house growing up!

Enjoy the photos – the one of the little girl might be one of my favorites of all time (and I think I may have some competition!).  For more, check out the slide show here.

It’s not every day that you get to photograph your high school principal’s daughter’s wedding.   I’ll admit it – I was nervous. Not because I have some issues from high school where I was always trying to impress my teachers (I was, but that’s another story), but because after getting to know Michael-Ann and Michael and their families over the past year or so, I wanted so badly to deliver the greatest photos of my career. They are THAT great (the people, I mean…and I guess the photos are pretty darn good too). I photographed Michael-Ann and Michael’s engagement party and bridal shower, and could just see all the love around them and knew it would be a tremendous wedding. And it was. Between all the personal touches (Michael-Ann’s uncle wrote and PERFORMED the ceremony music!), and Michael-Ann’s classic style (the girl can pull off feathers like a champ!), it truly was an amazing day.  I couldn’t be happier for these two.

I had the hardest time picking photos for this blog post so there are a few more than usual! For more, check out the slideshow here.

One of the things I LOVE about being a photographer is being a part of a special event in someone’s life – whether it’s a wedding, an engagement, a new baby – but what I love even more is when it’s someone I know!  This past weekend was Jen & Chris’ wedding in Cape May. Jen and I went to high school together (go GAMP Pioneers – yes that was our mascot, not kidding) and reconnected in the past few years thanks to the good ‘ole Book of Faces. It thrills me to see that she found Chris and that they are going to build a life together. They deserve all the happiness in the world and I am glad I was there to document their first moments as hubby and wife!

When Jessica and I were discussing her and Adam’s wedding day, she joked about how she was going to look like an Italian Queen…and I wondered to myself “did Italy ever have a royal family?”…I still don’t know the answer to that question (and Wikipedia was no help as usual)…but if they did, the queen would WISH she looked as gorgeous as Jessica did. I’m sure Adam would agree.

Jess & Adam – I am so glad I’ve gotten to know you over the past year and that I could be there to document your special day! I had so much fun!

I wasn’t sure we could top Rachel & Michael’s engagement session at Villanova back in February…but I think it’s pretty safe to say, the wedding topped it. Beautiful weather (yeah, just a tad warmer than our snowy engagement session), lots of hot pink (how great does that color look??), wine flowing from very early in the day, and two wonderful families coming together to celebrate. And boy do they know how to throw a PARTY! You know people are having a good time when they continue to dance even though the band has stopped playing!

Rachel and Michael, I am just thrilled for the two of you. You treat each other and everyone around you with so much love, and you deserve all the happiness in the world. Thanks for making me feel like part of your family on your special day!

Some of the other wedding professionals and venues contributed to this amazing day:

2nd Photographer: Debra Aiken
Ceremony: St. Peter’s Church, West Brandywine, PA
Portraits: Hibernia County Park
Reception: The Desmond Hotel
Band: A Sound Investment Band (AMAZING by the way)
Florist: Whitford Florist
Dress: La Bella Moda
Tuxes: Mens Warehouse
Cake: Desserts Int’l

And in lieu of wedding favors, Rachel & Michael made a donation to the SOS Children’s Village in Rose Hall, Jamaica. How awesome is that?

It seems like the last few posts have all started out with some sort of weather report…I’m not sure if the bad weather follows me around the country or maybe this global warming thing has just gone awry. Philadelphia just got its 3rd snowstorm of the season, and the second within a week. This is our snowiest winter on record, and so far, we have gotten more snow than Portland, ME and Buffalo, NY! Hey Vancouver, you need some snow? We’ve got plenty! And according to Punxsutawny Phil, we still have about 6 weeks of winter left!

Enough with the weather report, today’s post is Alex and Dan’s wedding back in November at the Waterworks Restaurant. My role in this wedding was as a second shooter for Kathleen Ferry of Firefly Photography.  For anyone who doesn’t know, the job of the second shooter at a wedding is to serve as a back-up to the primary shooter (who is really focusing on the bride/groom and other VIPs), and then take pictures of everything else going on, take some artistic shots, etc. This was my first experience second shooting and I loved it! It was so great to work with another photographer and see how they manage the day.

Some of the photos from this wedding were published in Brides Philadelphia magazine! If you happen to see it on a newsstand, pick it up and flip to the article on TableArt’s floral arrangements (page 262). To see more photos from the wedding, check out Firefly Photography’s blog.

So I’ve been in Florida for the past few days. Florida in January sounds nice, right? Well I guess it would be if it wasn’t Florida’s coldest cold spell on record, if there weren’t iguanas falling from trees, and the threat of sinkholes. I am trying to think warm thoughts and am brought back to a shoot I did a couple of months ago, up north, where the weather was wonderful and fall-like, and I was taking pictures of flowers!

Fleurish Florist is a floral design studio featuring eco-friendly, super creative designs. Owners (and sisters!) Jane and Susan only use sustainable, fair trade, and organic flowers. And they are quite crafty - can you spot the cabbage and acorns used in the arrangements below?  So cool!  If you are looking for a florist for your wedding or any other special event, these are your gals. And they were just featured in Philadelphia Magazine

Little side note, Jane and I were introduced through mutual friends, but after talking for a bit we realized we worked for the same architectural firm at the same time a little over a decade ago but never knew each other.  Small world. I am really looking forward to working with her this time around!

I am so honored to have been a part of my friends Christina & Kevin’s wedding. The very intimate gathering (30 people) took place at Gayle restaurant. I think the wedding gods were on our side because although it poured all day that day, the rain subsided about 10 minutes before the outdoor ceremony began, and then started back up again just as the cocktail hour was wrapping up. Perfect!

From the dozens of red umbrellas, to the beautiful fall décor, to the photos of Kevin and Christina and their friends and families that graced the walls…Christina didn’t leave out any details and it just added so much personality to the event. They even wrote their own vows and yours truly was crying behind the camera (so professional!).

Christina and Kevin are both business owners (she’s a personal chef, he’s a personal trainer) and they used some fantastic local vendors for the wedding. A little shout out to everyone who made this event super lovely…

Venue: Gayle

Dress:  Darcy Law Couture

Shoes: South Philly Style Shoes

Veil: Christina’s sister Joanna!

Hair: Kurt at Salon Richochet

Florist: Michael at Pure Design

Music: Joe Arnold

Enjoy the photos below, and to check out the slide show (which I have been informed by Christina has “gone international”) click here!
